The Invisible Alarm

Written By; Bethany Powell

I knew a divine appointment was coming soon and I was more than excited! At the rich neighborhood soon before, I noticed almost every person was very quick and some were quite rude. At each door, I got more and more elated because I knew something good must be coming soon. I realized that Satan was just trying to discourage me so that I would not be ready for the divine appointment that was just around the corner. In faith, I kept going and praising God as I went. As I walked up to one house while dusk was nearing , I saw a lady in her open garage talking on the phone. She seemed a little annoyed to see me and asked if I could come back in ten minutes. I told her I would try my best to do so and kept canvassing the street. When ten minutes had ended, I returned to the house praying that it would not be a waste of my time and energy. When she came to her door, she asked me what I was doing and why I was at her house. Then, she kindly asked me if I had seen her no trespassing signs and all the security cameras located all around her house which I honestly told her that I had not seen. She told me that she normally would chase off anyone who came onto her property selling things, but that for some reason she couldn’t chase me off. We sat down together and I showed her the books. After a special time visiting with each other, she ended up giving a generous donation and I left her with a Steps to Christ. Then I asked her if there was anything she would like me to keep in prayer. She told me that one of her close friends had just passed away from a massive heart attack and had left behind two teenage children. After praying with her, tears were streaming down her face and she gave me a big hug. It was so meaningful to see how God used me to break down the barriers and touch a heart that was in need. This was the divine appointment God had prepared for me.
