Dominos
Lori
“Here I am canvassing once again. Man it sure is hot in Mississippi but we must go on.” As the day grazed on these thoughts drifted through my head. As I made my way from business to business. Then I found myself standing in a nice air conditioned Domino's Pizza. I was waiting for the employee to stop what she was doing, but since she was the only one in the shift she was so busy zipping from one place to another. Doing all of the work. I waited and prayed in my heart, and even wondered if I should just leave. The moment I turned around to leave she stopped what she was doing and gave me her attention. I shared with her our books and she was really moved by our books. She frantically started looking for money in her wallet and pockets, and she managed to scrounge up 68 cents. She said, “This is literally all I have.” With a happy heart I accepted her donation and handed her a small steps to Christ. Shortly after I asked if I could pray with her. She looked at me and started to weep. She shared how she was going through a divorce. It was even more complicated because their daughter was caught up in the middle of it and it was weighing her down so much. After a heartfelt prayer she reached out her arms and gave me a big bear hug.
As I walked out of that place I thought to myself, “I really need to follow the Lords leading. I thought this was going to be a rejection, but it wasn’t, God impressed me to wait.” You know every soul is different, I might be in a Dominos again, but it won’t be the same. Everyone has a story to tell. ill you sit and listen. Someone is waiting to be heard, will you be there and give them an example of what Jesus’ love looks like.
